Ernesto Palma

Born in Costa Rica, Ernesto began dancing at the age of 11 learning Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia dance styles.  He won all the talent shows in High School!  Ernesto’s professional career began at the age of 16 when he was invited to join the National Folklore Dance Company and toured through out Cost Rica. Ernesto relocated to the United States at the age of 19 and began teaching competitive ballroom dance in New York City at TC Dance Club International.  At that time he also began studying ballet and Horton technique at the Alvin Ailey School.

As an instructor, Ernesto has had the pleasure of working with celebrities such as Blake Lively and Penn Dayton Badgley, Mark Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. He has taught at many New York City locations such as the Triangle Salsa Meat Packing District, the Brooklyn Museum and countless Private Parties at famous locations.Ernesto has a passion for teaching children and teenagers at different schools from kindergarten up to 8th grade. He has taught all over NYC in Public Schools as part of Dancing Class Rooms Program and Ballroom Basics.

Most recently, Ernesto placed 5th in the USDC National Mambo Championship.  He looks forward to bringing his brand of Salsa to the Lab and the Dumbo community!
